Edgewood Joppatowne Steelers Football Program

The Edgewood Joppatowne Steelers football program is a member of the Harford/Baltimore County Youth Football League. Our teams are broken down into 8 age brackets for children ages 5 to 14. We have two clinic levels to teach fundamentals while playing full contact football.

All age/weight groups play teams from Harford, Baltimore, Howard, Carroll and Cecil counties as well as in Middletown, Delaware. The league maintains win/loss records, except for clinic, and the league sponsors playoff and championship games.

The season starts August 1st and runs until mid-November, depending on the playoff schedule.

Practices are usually 4-5 days a week until school starts and then practices are cut to 2-3 days a week and a game on the weekend (Friday night or Saturday).  Practices are typically held in the evening during the week.  For safety reasons, children must attend a certain number of practices to be eligible to play in football games.

Our home games are played at Robert Copenhaver park in Joppatowne and Cunion field in Edgewood. All children must have a physical before the first game. Most equipment is supplied by the program. Parents are asked to purchase cleats, athletic cup and a practice jersey.

Team spirit-wear and concessions are available at all games.

Registration is held in April.

Fees for 2008 Season: $110 for the first child, $75 for each additional sibling (football or cheer)
